Ric Jackman Goes to Florida

The Penguins made a final move late in the day sending defenseman Ric Jackman to the Florida Panthers for Czech center Petr Taticek. Taticek was the 9th player taken in the 2002 entry draft. He has 9 goals 21 assists for Houston in the American Hockey League.

I am not super impressed with the trades. I mean, I knew that there was not going to be anything groundbreaking, but was still holding out for a bit more. I find it humerous to hear Patrick's comments..."Oh, we are thrilled." etc etc...give me a break. I do give some scouting reports on the new guys in today's blog.

I do think that this trade leaves the door open for a Recchi/Penguins reunion. He has a chance at a cup, we get some "assets and a pick" and we still get to resign him if he chooses. WIn Win for all involved...

What is the good word in your neck of the world??
