Joe Mullen Named Coach of the Baby Pens

Joe Mullen, fired as an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins last Thursday, was named head coach of the Wilkes Barre-Scranton Baby Penguins today. Joe Mullen and Rick Kehoe had been coaching the team on an interim basis for this past weekend's games.

Time will tell how this hiring works out, but will give Craig Patrick's critics something to bark about for the rest of the season. Especially if there is some sort of setback in WBS.

Stay Tuned....

hey Vetts

Sorry that I have been MIA....things have been a little crazy with getting ready for the holidays and work!

I am not sure I like the idea of him as coach. I mean, you just fired him as an assistant with the Parent club, and now he is fit to mold the youth of your organization. That bad thing is this just make it more obvious that they just had a problem with Edzo. Personally I wasn't thrilled, but he is supposedly just going to run Therrien's system. Those players down there seem to be holding themselves accountable at this point. Their captains actually ran their practice last Thursday, since they had no coach, and were going through all the same drills etc....I guess we will see what happens.

How are things up north??
